After much site
searching I found a beautiful vacant plot to build my new home. Together
with my architect and their team, we designed “my dream home”. It was
then time to find a builder. After meeting with a few and receiving
various quotations it was not a difficult choice to make. I was doing
this humongous task alone and after meeting Brett, the owner of Tuskers
Construction and Johan, I immediately felt at ease and found the
quotation along with the contract very favourable and their friendly and
helpful attitude sealed the deal.
It was not an easy plot to build on as it was really a “koppie” with
tons of stones and conglomerate rocks with clay beneath which meant a
double foundation had to be built. Even with the contractual time
constraints, the doors and windows which were all custom designed and
made, the house was built in record time, often through wet and bad
weather. As promised 6 months later I was able to move in.
The entire team and the subcontractors were always so respectful and
helpful with any big or small problems or changes that were made.
My furniture was in storage during the building so all my well
established pot plants were taken to the building site and left to the
elements. Brett even went so far as to take my beautiful bonsais to his
home where his lovely wife took care of them for me. That gesture, along
with all the glitches or requests I had that were taken care of went
beyond the duty of any building company. I even received a fabulous
welcoming hamper on completion.
Since then, a number of additions and changes that were necessary were
seen to promptly and with respect. This too was done quickly and neatly.
After the 2017 fires there was significant damage to the building.
Tuskers once again came to the rescue, they took charge, subcontracted
specialists when required and repaired our home back to its former
glory. Any leaks, heat induced expansion cracks and even broken door
handles were seen to with professionalism. To this day if any problem
arises Brett, Johan and the building team from Tuskers remain my first
call.
Along with the design and the high quality of building expertise my home
is one that is always remarked on how beautiful it is. I can honestly
say that it was a blessing to work with Tuskers and I can’t recommend
them highly enough.
